So many black bears in the Smoky Mountains, specifically, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Sevierville, Wears Valley and Townsend!! People ask, "where to see bears in sevierville tn" or "best place to see bears in smoky mountains". Generally, interactions are safe from a distance. However, we did have a Woman killed by bear in Cades Cove, back in 2000. A man also perished in 2020. You can see some of our own Black Bears that transit around our cabin, Bandit Lodge. Our cabin is VERY close to the Smoky Mountains National Park as the crow flies and many of the bears are "Park Bears". If you are lucky enough to see one or a few, we plead that all visitors observe from a distance and do not feed them. They will instantly mark humans and our cabin as a place to find food if they are fed. Not good for the bear. This goes without saying but please avoid mothers with cubs!!

In addition to black bear you might see or hear coyotes, wild turkeys and the ever elusive bobcat! Be sure to log your observations by photo or video. We have a YouTube Channel , @banditlodge, and your submissions may end up on our channel. You can email to: banditlodge@gmail.com
